Webb1 mars 2024 · Injection laryngoplasty (IL) is performed to reduce the gap between vocal folds induced by unilateral vocal fold paralysis (UVFP). Voice quality after IL may be different due to other factors that influence voice quality. Voice therapy has been reported to improve voice quality after IL in patients with UVFP. WebbEight patients showed improvement for more than 12 months after injection. Conclusion: Cymetra injection laryngoplasty offers improved vocal and vibratory function to patients with unilateral true vocal fold paralysis. The benefits of such medialization may be longer lasting than previously reported, and further long-term study is warranted.
